"Ambag" is a Filipino word for contribution — to mag-ambag is to chip in. That's exactly what this app is built around: making it easy for groups of friends, family, or barkada to chip in fairly and keep track of who owes who.
Why I built this
As a traveler, I've always been the one to front expenses for the group — hotel, van rental, entrance fees — because I had the spare cash and someone had to cover it. After every trip, tracking who owed what became a headache. Multiple people splitting a single bill, a full day of back-to-back expenses, some costs forgotten entirely — someone always ends up quietly absorbing what should have been shared.
That frustration is why I built Ambagan — so no one has to be that person anymore.
